In the case of side gusseted bags, the use of 45 degree angled seams in the bag fold ensures that the bags subsequently have a rectangular bag bottom, which has the advantage that no material (granulate or other) can settle in the edge areas of the bag.

Due to the rectangular bag base, such bags are ideally suited for use as inlays in cardboard boxes or as storage bags for car tyres etc.
